What must I do to be saved?

In a world plagued with sin and despair, it truly may seem that there is no hope. After watching the evening news, there seems to be nothing better for mankind. People are fighting here and there. Scandals pop up everywhere. Gloom and doom seem to be on every hand. What can a rational person do to escape?
There is one source of comfort. This comfort can be summarized in two words. God Is. Does God approve of such wickedness? That answer is a resounding NO! It must be remembered that God gave man a set of rules to live by. If men would only follow the rules that God has put in place then there would be no gloom and doom to report. But men do not always follow the path of God.
God has promised then that the wicked would be punished. He has also promised that the one that does not obey the gospel would be lost.
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; II Thessalonians 1:7-9 (KJV)
Any man or woman that chooses not to follow God will be lost to an eternal Hell.
Wasn’t the source of comfort the fact that God is? Yes! God has made a way that man can be saved from eternal damnation and in the process live above the wickedness that is in the world. Perhaps the question on your mind now is “What must I do to be saved?”
